Dr. Burns was born and raised in Houma, Louisiana, and earned the following degrees: -BS in Psychology from Louisiana State University -BS in Child and Family Studies from Louisiana State University -MA in Clinical Psychology from Midwestern University -PsyD in Clinical Psychology from Midwestern University -MS (postdoctorate) in Clinical Psychopharmacology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology PSYCHOTHERAPY TRAINING EXPERIENCES: -Individual, couples, and family therapy -Ages 13+ -Long-term and short-term outpatient; inpatient; integrated primary care -Modalities: CBT, EFT, DBT, ACT, EMDR, person-centered, solution-focused, attachment-based, integrative, mindfulness, trauma-focused, strengths-based -Concerns: Chronic/terminal illness, acute medical/health, weight loss, caregiver stress, behavioral, relationship, general distress -Diagnoses: anxiety, depression, PTSD/trauma, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia ASSESSMENT/EVALUATION TRAINING EXPERIENCES: -Disability Evaluations -Vocational Rehabilitation Evaluations -Diagnostic Evaluations -Personality Assessments -Psychological Assessments -Cognitive Evaluations/Screeners -Pre-surgical Bariatric Evaluations Dr. Burns enjoys meeting and working collaboratively with patients to address their goals for therapy or assessment using a person-centered, empathetic approach which is tailored individually depending on one's needs and wants. FEES: -Fees are listed per hour and will be prorated appropriately (unless otherwise noted) -Psychotherapy Intake Evaluation (First Appointment): $180 -Psychotherapy Session (Subsequent Appointments): $150 -Assessments/Report Writing: $265 -Pre-Surgical Bariatric Evaluation $300 (flat fee) If you or a loved one is seeking support and are experiencing financial hardship, please inquire about our reduced-rate option. These limited spots allow for support at a reduced-rate based on individual need.
